It's pouring down in Ulverston! It is likely that it will persist for a while, too.
I had a day away from the ffices yesterday. Did a few outstanding kobs including a run to the tip with some rubbish. Then a nice ride out on my trike. Sat in the sun for a while on teh Poop Deck then some prcatice at Kings Head. We played bowls at Ulverston Cons in teh evening and I got hammered! I won't tell you what my score was, other than it was shameful! I will not be surprised if I am "rested " for the next match!
There has been further disorder in Northern Ireland. Hooligans on the rampage despite all the authorities, pliticians and the police pleading for calm.
And things are getting worse in the war between Iran and the USA. What sort of world do we live in?

A rather nice , clear and sunny, morning, but remaining chilly. A couple of showers are expected around lunchtime. That "heatwave" seems like a long time ago!
I watched the last f the TT. Fantastic! The shear nerve of thos riders is unimaginable. The slightest eror and that is teh end of it! There has been two riders killed this year. But there i a never ending streeak of otehr riders eager to take their places. Speed is like a drug. Speed kills.

It has been raining overnight, but it is clear bnow and it looks like it is going to be a nice day.
There was an accident at Newland on Sunday involving 4 cars. believe it resulted in a fatality and others injured, including the need for the air ambulance. The A590, which is the main road into Ulverston, was closed to all traffic for several hours with a diversion via Grizebeck. That, of coure, caused futher road blockages with big lorries trying to get through in some of the narrow lanes.
It was the Epsom Derby on Saturday. And it was pouring down! Dreadful weather adn the crowds were being soaked and many leaving the course before the big race. No wonder!
It was teh Appleby Hprse Fair also overthe weekend which normally attract thouands of visitors.With all the recent rain it would have been a mud bath.
