8th May 2024WEDNESDAY 8th May.
A cooler morning and a distinct lack of sunshine. Unlike yesterday which was glorious! All day through it was so lovely. Had a very good day to myself and saw a lovely house which, with a touch of luck, I will be marketing shortly.
My old friend has been discharged from hospital and has returned home. That is where she wants to be, but I'm none too certain if it is the right place for her.
I chaired a meeting last evening on a rather important issue and managed to come up with a "plan". Softly! Softly!
All teh flags which are decorating the town so beautifully, are due to come down on Sunday. Town always looks terribly bare then.
On Saturday it's teh wonderful K2B ( Keswick to Barrow Challenge). Our little club have volunteered, once again, to act as Marshalls. It is a wonderful event and lots ond lots of money is raised by the intrepid walkers. I really think it is quite marvelous.

The weather was quite kind too so that is a considerable help.
I only worked till midday on Saturday then watched some racing on tv and visited my friend in Hospital. In the evening I was invited to attend the Presentation Night of the Freemasons Boxung Presentation Evening where they distribute a number of grants to local charities and organisations I have recently stood down as the Boxing MC after 27 years!!
Sunday was a very lovely day with plenty of sunshine. Anotehr trip to the hospital and then later Cocktails @ 5. It was "Super ~Sunday" so there was a big crowd in town and the atmosphere was lovely.
I had a totally lazy day on Monday, simply pottering about and spending time on teh Poop Deck.

The Local Election results are the main topic of the media, of course. And there are some pretty wild forecasts of the likely results of the forthcoming General Election. Here in Ulverston the voting turnout was a very low. A mere 21%. Local politics is dramatically different from National Politics. Let;s see what happens?
The town does look good with the Falgs decorating alll the shops and businesses. As well as some individual homes too. We are half way through the festival and they will all come down a week on Sunday. Aaaaah!
