There is always something fascinating going on in Ulverston, whether it's the Flag Fortnight, the Lantern Procession of the fabulous Dickensian Festival.  Ulverston combines special events with an assortment of specialist shops, cosy pubs, traditional markets and cultural hotspots.  Add to that the colourful houses, cobbled streets and inviting ginnels and there is enough to keep you happy for days and days!

Furness Tradition Folk Festival   -  8th - 10th July

A celebration of the folk art of the area including dancing, music and local crafts.  www.furnesstradition.org.uk

North Lonsdale Agricultural Show  -  Wednesday 27th July

This annual show features local baking, competitions, show jumping, cattle and sheep.  A great day out for all the family.

A magical sight as rivers of light weave their way through the streets of Ulverston.  The procession is a culmination of the fortnight long Ulverston Charter Festival, a celebration of the granting of the town's Market Charter in 1280.   www.southlakeland.gov.uk/events
